The idea behind Leech began during a fly fishing trip many years ago to Bosnia where Leech’s experienced anglers wore the first production glasses. The crystal clear waters of the Balkans make fish shy, and to fish effectively and remove reflections from the water surface, good polarized sunglasses are an absolute necessity. After dinner at the fishing camp we met some other fly fishermen and as they looked out over the river it became clear that the performance of sunglasses often varies. They couldn’t see half the fish in the pool. This was nothing new to us as we had tried most brands, but for our new friends this was a remarkable experience. Sunglasses were tested and passed around the group and soon everyone agreed that the pool was full of fish.
This experience was the beginning of Leech’s continued development as a company, and the path to designing and producing a broader line of polarizing glasses for a larger audience had begun.
Since launching in 2012, we have had an amazing journey and today we have improved the visibility at the water for fishermen in over 15 countries on 3 continents.
